Terms & Conditions

Please note that you are not being requested to submit the final commission.

At this stage of the competition we want to see your style of work, so please

enter up to 5 pieces of work that are based on the theme THE ART OF DIVERSITY. 
 

Judges will then choose one winner of a £5000 cash prize, plus the winning artwork will be turned into a limited edition print and exhibited in London in March 2020. 5 runners-up will also receive £500 cash and have their works exhibited in the London exhibition.

The artist covenants that any artwork submitted to The Bridgeman Studio Award 2019 must agree with the following:

 

  1. Competition open to all artists worldwide above the age of 18.
     

  2. Only one entry (Up to 5 images) is permitted.
     

  3. All artwork entered into the competition remains 100% copyright of the artist.
     

  4. An Artist can submit existing work as long as it fits the theme 'THE ART OF DIVERSITY.'
     

  5. All artwork can be used in marketing and advertising the competition from Bridgeman, Verizon Media, and other third parties.
     

  6. Entrants must give permission for their names and photographs to be used for publicity. 
     

  7. The entry for the Bridgeman Studio Award can be any media (photography, illustrations, painting, paper cut etc.).
     

  8. All artwork must be 100% original copyright owned by the artist and not use any third party copyright material.
     

  9. Entries must be supplied as one high resolution .jpeg sized between 3MB and 5MB.
     

 

By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to these terms and conditions.
 

  1. You must be the original creator of the artwork.
     

  2. You must own the copyright in the entirety of the artwork.
     

  3. The artist shall provide the artwork according to the artwork delivery specifications set out in the Bridgeman Studio Award Entry Form. 
     

  4. Payment for the winner will be £5,000, or the equivalent in currency, of artist’s location.
     

  5. The Judges decision will be final and accepted by all entrants.
     

  6. Entries for the BSA2019 open 1 October 2019 and close 16th December 2019.
     

  7. Final decision and announcement for the winners will be announced in March 2020.
     

  8. If you win the competition you must be available to begin the commission after the announcement of the winner mid-January 2020.


     

The artist covenants that any artwork submitted to The Bridgeman Studio Award 2019 shall not violate any of the following:
 

  1. Be false or misleading;
     

  2. Be fraudulent or involve the sale of counterfeit, stolen or infringing items;
     

  3. Infringe or misappropriate any third party’s copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret of other proprietary right or rights of publicity or privacy;
     

  4. Violate any law, statue, ordinance or regulation;
     

  5. Be defamatory, libelous, offensive, unlawfully threatening, or harassing, or advocating, or providing assistance involving violence, significant risk of injury or death, or other unlawful activities;
     

  6. Be obscene or contain pornography.
     

 

The final commission will adhere to Verizon Media commission brief terms and conditions.
